The question I am going to answer today stems from a conversation I had with my husband about peace. We read a story in Chicken Soup for the Soul and it demonstrated how God's peace can get you through even the most difficult tragedy, like losing a loved one. This peace, I believe is also the cure for anxiety.
If you remained in God's perfect peace all of the time there would be nothing to be anxious about because you would be trusting completely in God's care for you. Is it really that easy? Yes and no. It is that easy, however we as humans have a difficult time trusting God completely, and as a result we do not experience His peace the way that He desires for us to.
God doesn't want us to be anxious, or stressed out in fact the Bible reveals that God wants us to cast all our anxieties on God because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Psalm 55:22 tells us to cast out burdens on God and He will sustain us. I believe it is in His peace that we are sustained.
I have found in my life that when I have actually practiced this truth, I have experienced great peace in the midst of the horrible storms of my life, and when I haven't I have found myself in constant turmoil and confusion. I would much rather reside in the place of peace and trust. Are you anxious today? If you are, you really have nothing to lose ask God to help you and see what happens. I believe God will allow His peace to flow into your life as you invite Him in and give Him your anxiety. Let someone stronger carry the burden so you can be free! God loves you and His desire is that you might be free.
